SQ officers were called at 5:55 p.m. to deal with a dispute between neighbours on Montée des Quatre-Lacs.
When they arrived at the scene, police say they found themselves facing a man armed with a rifle and, according to a statement by the BEI, “shots were fired.”
The man was struck by at least one bullet and he was taken to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
The BEI, which is called in whenever a death or serious injury occurs during a police operation in Quebec, has assigned eight investigators to the case and is calling upon anyone with information on the incident to contact the bureau at bei.gouv.qc.ca/nous-joindre.html.
