On May 4th, the first phase of my life came to a close: I officially became an Aeronautical Engineer by graduating from Politecnico di Milano. It's difficult to put into words the emotions I felt on that day, but I want to share a small piece of this incredible journey with all of you.I had the opportunity to defend my thesis titled "Design of a software architecture to automate avionic testing procedures," which I wrote in collaboration with TXT E-TECH. I am immensely grateful to my advisor, Giuseppe Quaranta, for his unwavering support throughout my thesis journey, and to my industry mentor, David Frisini, for granting me the opportunity to collaborate with TXT and for continuing to believe in me.The long path of my studies was a rollercoaster of challenges and sacrifices. Hours upon hours, sometimes even nights, were spent with my nose buried in books while the outside world seemed to carry on without me. Some exams went well, while others left a bitter disappointment in my heart. The tension and anxieties that accompanied me before each written or oral test seemed to magnify, but I knew I had to face them head-on. I won't deny that I thought about giving up, about throwing in the towel, and surrendering to the difficulties. However, in those dark moments, it was the support of my family, friends, and all the people who stood by my side that gave me the strength to keep going.Every single step forward felt like adding a tiny piece to a complex puzzle. No matter how small, each progress brought me closer to my goal. And now, finally, I have achieved what once seemed like a distant dream. But this success will not be the only one in my life. I look to the future with ambition and determination. I dream of living new adventures, overcoming fresh challenges, and once again sharing my successes with all the people who have been there for me along this journey, and with all the others I will have the pleasure of meeting.#success #opportunity #graduation #grateful #engineer

121 TCC Talks - ft. Abhishek Karthikeyan. - My journey in the automotive world began with a background in biology. My international exchange program to Esslingen, Germany, during my UG marked my first trip abroad and opened my eyes to the vibrant world of automotive innovation in the heart of Europe.I carry the invaluable experiences and lessons with me, forever shaping my career and my love for cars. When I returned, I decided to pursue a master's degree. My focus areas were electronics, control systems of vehicles, and electrical machines. The big question was where to pursue my master's, and I narrowed it down to three options: the USA, Germany, and Sweden.I ultimately chose Sweden, specificallyKTH Royal Institute of Technology, which is ranked 78th globally. KTH offered courses that perfectly aligned with my interests in electronics and controls. Moreover, Sweden's rich automotive history, with companies like Volvo and Scania having their roots there, made it a promising destination for job opportunities.Studying at KTH in Stockholm was challenging, but I adapted. I applied to various companies and landed a job at Volvo Cars, specifically in the stability team. Our work focused on electronic stability control, a crucial component in makingVolvo Carsone of the safest cars globally. My role involved testing and ensuring the vehicle's safe state, especially in challenging conditions.Volvo's commitment to safety and innovation has been a tremendous learning experience. They are pioneering new electrical architecture platforms for electric vehicles and have pledged to cease producing internal combustion engines by 2030.To aspiring automobile engineers, I recommend you to focus on building a strong foundation, align your projects with your interests, and make the most of your college years. In the USA, you might earn more, but it often comes at the cost of work-life balance. Re: Boeing. The list of US companies failing grows. Does the Board have any awareness that Comac will be glad to “own” the single aisle airframe market? And their recent appointment of a new CEO is not a good one. Just more of the same, insider. Recently a finance type there was crowing about “free cash flow” budget. Are we crazy or insane? “This” discussion at “this” point in time? Seriously? The focus private and public - now - should be rebuilding what made the company world class. In every area. And, the largest buyer of frames will be the Asian markets. China will leverage their prowess elsewhere too, tieing airframe purchases with kindred economic development schemes. The reception of China is warm in South America, and Africa…and the folks in the Middle East, the ones that bought most of the A380’s.Once the global perception of the United States that our economic, technological and strategic punch is gone, game over. They see we have lost the will to, as an example, to control our borders. It’s the Wild West again. Decline is wide-spread. …and to make a point, one that has no “stickiness” nowadays, the education vacuum in STEM education. Yes, technology, math, engineering and sciences. Therein lies what a national educational focus should look like. Look at the intensity of athletic boosters, on college campuses…no such energy for STEM programs. We are in a bad educational place. All the above is like a quilt, you pull one stand then the fraying begins and soon the quilt over time is degraded and then discarded. Unless repaired. And the National Will to repair the breeches is long gone. “The Comac C919 is a narrow-body airliner developed by Chinese aircraft manufacturer Comac. The development program was launched in 2008. Production began in December 2011, with the first prototype being rolled out on 2 November 2015; the maiden flight took place on 5 May 2017. On 29 September 2022 the C919 received its CAAC type certificate. 🎓 Project Overview: As part of my academic journey at Motorvehicle University of Emilia Romagna (MUNER), we embarked on the exciting task of optimizing a Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) internal combustion engine for a Formula One hybrid car while adhering to the stringent regulations set by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA).🔍 Propulsion System Characteristics and Commitment-Framework: Exploring the intricacies of F1 regulations and constraints laid down by the FIA formed the cornerstone of our project's framework. Setting clear design objectives and parameters ensured alignment with the rigorous standards of F1 engineering.🛠️ Design Development: Crafting a meticulous development roadmap guided our progress through various stages. Engine characterization and in-depth study of parameters were pivotal in shaping our design decisions. Defining strategies backed by thorough simulations enabled us to navigate the complexities of optimization effectively.📊 Engine Performance, Results, and Comments: Through rigorous experimentation and analysis, we attained insights into the engine's performance. The culmination of our efforts yielded promising results, accompanied by insightful commentary on our findings.🔮 Conclusion and Future Works: In conclusion, this project exemplifies our dedication to pushing the boundaries of automotive engineering within the confines of F1 regulations.
